Kid's Day

When I was about 9 or 10, I was a little nervous about the upcoming Mother's and Father's Day one/two punch. It's not like money grows on trees when you're 10! Plus, there's the whole spectacle of being *nice* to your respective mother and father on those days. Breakfast in bed, dinner of *their* choice, cards, homemade ash trays...it was a little off-putting.

I recall being "off-put" and saying to my father, "Why isn't there is a Kid's Day???"

And I remember this clear as day, and I have to say to my Daddy - I totally get what you were saying now.

He answered, "Because every day is Kid's Day."

Amen.
