Momma and Baby time

Yes, we still call Annika "Baby." You can't stop us.

The last few weekends since I've gone back to work, Annika and I have spent breakfast at Starbucks. We sit in the comfy chairs (if they're available), people watch, play on my iPhone together and just chat.

I usually get her regular milk, but on these mornings she gets her "mocha". I get to see her thrilled by a few squirts of chocolate syrup and she gets to be like Momma. I'm the one who's thrilled she still feels that way.

Some Declan

My parents keep complaining that we don't write enough about Annika in the blog these days, so here's some pictures of Declan.

First time in a high chair:

And here's just a cute picture of him:

What really happens when Momma is away...

With Daddy at home playing Mr. Mom, the perception of what happens at home and the reality are somewhat different. My loving wife manages to play up my parenting skills by only showing off the cute videos where the boy and I get along and it's all smiles and giggles. What she doesn't show you is actually what goes on most of the time (me torturing my son trying to get him to roll while my poor daughter is ignored)...

The only thing that keeps me safe from CPS (child protective services) is that I somehow managed to get in good with Annika early so she won't narc on me now, and Declan can't talk yet and can be bought off with 4 ounces of breastmilk.

One more thing, contrary to our government's current position, torture does work.

What happens when I'm away

Chris is home with the kids in September, so he's been taking some videos to keep me informed of the goings-on. I think he only shows me the cute stuff.
